Hello all. We are currently planning our first trip touring France. Leaving on 6th July Dover to Calais. Are there any newbies out there thinking of doing the same that would like to join up with us first timers. We're planning on going down the coastal west side, then crossing through to Beziers. Then coming back up through the middle. using Aires. French passion sites. Etc Etc. No set return date !!! Just go over & enjoy.:thumb::thumb::thumb: :Cool:

Hi, we are doing similar, but only for 2 weeks, we cross June 29th, 6 of us ( 3 MH's ) heading down as far as possible to Dinan then working our way back up. Take early retirement next year so hopefully we will be doing longer trips then. Hope you have a good time :france:

We are currently on our first trip in France - and the only thing I'd comment on your original post is don't plan too much - take it day by day:thumb:

Just beware! The Tour de France is in the area around that date so check up where they are going to disrupt normal living!

Hi & thanks for the replies. Have taken into account bank holidays, also tour-de-france. Hope you are all enjoying yourselves & hopefully may meet up with a few funsters along the way.
Thanks again. Bill & Eileen :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Parc Verger

If you go down near Limousin drop into Parc Verger, lovely site and usually a few funsters there.

Bob and Di will give you a great welcome :thumb::thumb:

Have a great trip. If this is your first trip you may be surprised at just how big a country France is. It's VAST. We've done the journey a few times and spread over 4 or 5 days. Admittedly that's meandering around and stopping off en route, but for us that's what motorhoming is all about. I did once do a trip to Sprendlingen in Germany (where the m/h was built) in one day. There was no fun in that! All you see is roads flashing by! Much better to see what is to be seen as you go.

Hi Wyn & Jean. We have freinds who live just outside Paris. Also freinds in Helaine & Alsace. Have been over in the car before (staying in hotels) but never really explored. This is our first motorhome trip. As you say it is vast. Like all first timers I know we will make a few cock-ups, things we will forget. But have covered a lot of the bases via the info on the forum & other experienced motorhomers. Obviously were a bit nervous being a new chapter in our lives. But at the same time excited !!!! Thanks for advice. Bill & Eileen :thumb::thumb::thumb:
