I love a good travel quote, I've had that 'good traveller" in my signature for years. Just came across a quote I enjoyed..

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” Mark Jenkins

What's your favourite travel quote? Or any quote for that matter.

My favorite travel quote was uttered by my dear wife. She was driving down the M6 after picking my parents up from Manchester airport.
She is doing 95mph, so I say " be careful there are unmarked police cars on this stretch"
Reply- Let me know if you see one !!
    There's sometimes no answer.:Eeek:

To do with travelling I suppose......
Many years ago my wife bought a mini off a friend of ours, when we went to pick it up my wife was asking many questions about the car, she said "in the morning how long do you leave the choke out for", our friend replied "Till I get just past Tesco's"

“When you’re traveling, ask the traveler for advice not someone whose lameness keeps him in one place.” - Rumi a 13th century philosopher and traveller.

My favourite was from Robert Morley:

A holidaymaker accepts, a traveller selects.

Sums it up for me succinctly, could almost be a haiku.

This one is from Mark Twain he has many good travel quotes but i think personally this is so true.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

 Here are a few from my travel diary,

    (Benjamin Franklin)

    Travel teaches toleration
    (Benjamin Disraeli)

My favourite thing is to go where I've never been.
    (Diane Arbus)

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness.

I also chose my signature for the same reason,
I don't mind following the crowd as long as it's going in my direction
