HI - just picked up a 566U on a Ford Transit base. I would like to see if there is any more power in the system and wondered if anyone has had a Transit Rechiped to increase the power

Cheers
Mick

You have either 110 or 140PS. Why do you need more? Are you planning to tow?

My work Transit is permanently loaded at close to its max gross weight of 3000kg and the 85PS engine is more than adequate at UK speed limits.

More speed generally means more broken crockery!

Transit Rechipping

Hi there. I had a Dethleffs Sunlight on the new Transit and it kept stalling as I drew away. I was achieving 32.7 mpg.
I sent it to Ford and they re-mapped the engine with a software update (£135). Afterwards it didn't stall but my mpg dropped to 27. I felt quite cheated. I know of two others that have had the same experience.

On the transit forum, people on there seem to use a firm called vantuner haven't seen any complaints. If you want I can look up the details for you.
