In my search for a box van trailer i have come across many car trailers and the ones people seem to always go for is Brian James for cars i.e. smart. I did think of getting one myself for our smart but the cost of the ferries double with trailer so sticking with my scooter trailer instead as no extra cost and still gives the ability to get around when camped. Obviously aframe in europe is a no go else i would be doing that :)

It's cheaper to hire a car, last year we saved £90 in doing so.

Yes I agree, it's not just ferry/tunnel costs it's extra fuel too. We find we don't need a car all the time, if we did we would go back to tugging, but hiring gives you the best of both worlds. (y)

I considered Car hire recently. Until I found out that Many will not hire to over 70`s! and those who will are Bl******dy expensive.

Have you checked if you have the capacity to tow a car and trailer, many vans will only tow a ton or so.
