Does anyone know whether it is possible/feasible to put a towbar on a Bessacar 435? If so is it a job for the local tow bar specialist or does one have to go to a Bessie dealer?

if your van has an Alko chassis then a special towbar is needed...or someone who can fabricate one to fit.

Alko chassis should never be drilled as they are galvanised and will rust where drilled, as well as the chassis warranty being voided.

some standard van chassis are shorter than the hab body and need extending to the very rear end and this adds considerable price to the bar.

its unlikely a regular factory (Fiat, Peugeot etc) towbar will be a straight forward fit due to the rear skirt being lower than the chassis.

I can recommend ESSANJAY in Poole, Dorset. They fitted a towbar and electrics to my previous camper, a Bessacarr E695 with an ALKO chassis.

I am booked in again on the 27th to have a towbar & electrics fitted to my new vehicle, also on an ALKO chassis. Cost is £520 inc VAT @ 20%.
