We got a Tom-Tom 930T,, of late it does not hold it`s charge..

Have just ordered a new battery, one with free dismantling kit..

When I open it up and remove the old battery are we going to loose everything we have on it?? or is there a backup battery in/on it..?

Not familiar with that particular model but usually map data, POIs etc are in non-volatile memory so should be OK.:thumb:

Back it up to the pc via Tom Tom Home.

Then disconnect battery & replace with the new one.. while it is on the home page..

I think this may be the solution,

With my Tom Tom I got a "cradle" thingie into which the Tom Tom can sit. You plug the usb cable from the cradle into your computer and you can then back up the info currently on your Tom Tom onto you computer. (make a note where it is sent to for retrieval)

Yep

Plug it into the usb cradle connected to the pc.

The Tom Tom will ask you if you want to connect to the computer.

Tom Tom Home should open on your PC.

Then back up to the pc.
