to ping or not to ping (1 Viewer)

afternoon all, I am pondering wheather to put a mains connected 'ping' device into my IP CCTV system, like the avios ip power 9258. So when away I can do a hard mains re-boot of any mis-behaving CCTV cameras. does anyone have experiebce of using this kind of thing? Am I complicating matters by introducing another level of electronic layers to go wrong ?

I have the same problem with a IP web cam at work, it seems to lock up and needs a switch off and on to get it back again. OK if i am at work but when away no.
Good idea if the avios does not lock up too !:thumb:

Friends of mine use these to power on and of lab equipment to avoid large electricity bills and they highly recommended them
