Diesel is 112.9 at the Sainsbury up the road from us. Sounds like we are quite fortunate, but yes, no doubt it will creep up again as winter approaches.

I got caught yesterday. Pulled onto a Total site at Sedgefield in County Durham. Sign was displaying Diesel 120.9.

One pump with Diesel vacant. Pulled on and started to fill. When I looked closer the pump price was displaying 126.9 per litre The pump was "EXCELLIUM" Diesel.

They were selling both normal and Excellium diesel but on different pump banks as you drove through . Normal diesel plus petrol grades on the first pump you passed and Excellium plus petrol grades on the next.

Thank God it was only the Smart Car that I had filled up not the Motorhome.

The cheapest up here is £114.9, having just crept up 2 pence a litre in the past few days. Tesco is currently £117.9, but I think they are starting the 5p per litre off with a £50 till receipt.

Prices around 118.9/119.9 for diesel on Tees-side.

We were in Tesco yesterday and noticed the 5p off deal - but also noticed that prices of several items had risen quite sharply. Don't know whether it's to fund the fuel offer or whether it's so that they can pretend to have special cuts pre-Christmas.

Every time Tesco's bring in the 5p off coupons, they put the fuel price up the week before by 2p (1p one day and then another 1p the next day). They have done this the last three times they have brought in the coupons. The problem this causes is that all surrounding petrol stations increase their price to the same. I would prefer 3p off per litre and leave the price alone which is what you are actually saving and if you don't like Tesco fuel, which a lot of people don't, then you could go elsewhere.

Well, l have beaten you lot! In Ramsey, its £1.27.9p for diesel! Fortunately, l don't fill up here, l do it when l get off the boat at Heysham, or before l get on the boat coming home.l go to Morrisons in Morecambe, or Asda in Lancaster, and it is about 12p per litre cheaper than here.

So let me get this straight.....

You're all rushing out to get fuel at a supposedly lower cost.

When that tankful runs out, then what do you do.....?

It must be me 'cos I don't understand this mania for panic buying.

Me too. Walked into Tesco yesterday:
Me - "Oh look the 5p off fuel offer is on again"
Jill - "Just filled up the car because the warning light came on"
Me - "Well, b*gg*r the 5p offer then"

They we competing with the local Asda who decided to drop their price for week as part of a promotion.

Glad we filled up at the lower price.

Ah! I thought I was on a winner...St. Ives' had a garage asking for £1.25.9. Sainsburys at Helston (near the campsite I was on) was only £1.17.9.

OK....I can match £1.27.9 now - Shell station @ Sedgemoor services on the M5...and the cars are queuing up. I guess they have a captive audience to some degree and can charge what they like

Me...I have 1/3 of a tank still left from Helston...should get me home...

Should have gone to ASDA St Austell @1.13.9 for petrol 1.15.9 Diesil I believe ASDA at Penryn was the same.

The JET station at Kingsley Village, the bottom of Highgate Hill on the A30 used to be the cheapest in Cornwall. It has just been taken over by SHELL and is now, if not the dearest in Cornwall, is at least one of them! Ithink the one at Temple on the A30 still holds that dubious record
