I have just been reading another thread by G4GMO who suggested that we might have thread prefixes so that you can give an idea of what the thread is about. This might be a good idea, though not sure how difficult it is to implement. Because we have separate forum areas we do not need them everywhere, a post in "Motorhome Security" would probably not need a prefix. I am thinking of the two main forums "Motorhome Chat" and the off topic forum "The U Shaped Lounge"

A drop down box when you make a new thread would work, This would then appear on in front of the thread. What would you like in the dropdown:

Top Tip
Help!
Discuss
Groan
Joke
Bullshit alert
X. Rated
Crap Joke
Etc:Smile:

But seriously it might be good. If you think this might be a good idea please let me know and I will work on it

Don't want to appear negative but sounds awful complicated and as now to attract attention you could still drop down any title you wanted. And some would ::bigsmile:
I still read the first of every thread to see if i'm interested

Don't want to be negative either Jim, it's a good idea , but I wouldn't waste time and effort, if a poster is too lazy or unable to correctly address a post I doubt they would use a drop down box.. or if they did probably use the wrong label.

Drop down box

Sounds like a good idea.

I hope nobody got offended by my post as it wasn't aimed at anyone in particular and wasn't meant to be derogatory. I may have been guilty of an obscure title myself.

Another forum that I use - one for people over 50 - has subtitles on the threads.

No - not the ones like on the telly, ones that are sub to the main title.

It helps you decide if you want to bother reading it

I'm a 'hoverer' also. Don't know if it's possible to tweak how much info is displayed in the hover box, but if we could have more than the stock 2 lines then that'd be great. :thumb:

I do not mind a suprise or two if you start to read a post and it turns out not what you thought so what! its what make this forum different, no SPELLING POLICE or this is in the wrong place etc :thumb:It does not matter to me what you do Jim I will probably post it wrong anyway along with some others:ROFLMAO:but then when I do someone will come along and tell me in a very nice way on here and explain my error in a non condescending way

if it aint broke dont fix it,
as you run your cursor slowly over the new threads its gives you the first line or two and you can soon tell if its read now stuff or read later.
