We are thinking of spraying the front panels of our Hymer B524 2005 as no matter what i try the shine on them is useless does anyone recommend a paint shop in the essex area or within easy reach.

Would agree but it's not paint that will be burnt through but gel coat which on Hymer is reasonably thick but care should still be taken if using a polisher.I agree with @funflair, It would be cheaper to let someone have a go at 'mopping it' first. But get someone who knows what they're doing, its quite easy to burn through the pain apparently.

Agree with Michael find a good boat repair guy, what they can do with GRP is amassing, even if it has gone too far for recutting (unlikely) they can re-gel coat it bring it back like new.If you do go down the route of painting, look for a commercial vehicle paint sprayer, they will have a booth big enough, most car paint shops are too small, both booths and even clearance through access doors. But as has been suggested using a good cutting paste may well get a result but also, again as suggested, using a professional with experience is important as you can "burn" the gelcoat with fast buffers. You will find experienced boat valets will work with this problem all the time and may be a good start point.
