Fridges & Ovens appears to be nearest section match to this, so here goes.
I have a 2014 Pilote with a Thetford oven/grill/hob fitted.
The enamel on the hob top, that the gas burners & electric ring sit on, has cracked in two places.
A warranty claim obviously you would think?
NO..... Thetford, without seeing the hob top, have refused the warranty claim, which incidentally was first raised in November 2015.
They claim that the hob has been washed with too much force, which has caused the damage.
Obviously a case of cheap, crappy materials used in order to save on production cost thus maximising profits.
Be very careful with those marigolds!!

that's poor.. to say the least..

do you have a photo showing the damage ?

Similar thing.. ..
we had a Beko domestic cooker with ceramic hob. The paint started flaking around the front display panel which then started to rust..
.. reported and asked for it to be replaced / repaired.. .. told sorry, you must have used the wrong kitchen cleaner ..

as you said.. cheap nasty materials to save money and make profit..

Needless to say when we bought a new cooker it wasn't a Beko .. we bought an all stainless steel Italian cooker made by Bertizzoni

moral here.

cheap no good , good no cheap

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Stove enameling is almost indestructible, not likely to crack unless you attack it with a hammer. If your dealer won't help might be worth contacting Pilote as they fitted it, also put some appeals out on other forum to see if anyone else has had a problem, if so then you would have some ammo to throw at them. I wonder if the top has distorted due to heat from the grill due to being made from too thinner material.
Tom @tomlowry07 you have the same cooker in your van could you give your one a good inspection to see if it has any problems.

2009 previously a tugger for thirty years
We have a 2013 Pilote with a Thetford cooker and have no cracking problems with the top.

We did however have to have the cooling fans replaced, they had always worked overtime on the cooker from new to the extent that the hot air coming from the grill area was starting to distort the gas knobs. All replaced under warranty without any quibble.

Do you think that perhaps your dealer is not championing your cause fully?

Hi Rick
I have a 2015 Pilote that had a chip out of the Thretford enamel cooker top from new. This was pointed out to the Dealer at handover from new. A new one was ordered but when the new one was removed from the packaging low and behold there was a chip in the same place. On inspection there had been letters and numbers written with what looked like a finger in the enamel on the underside in exactly the same place as the original one that had been fitted from new. This had left a chip in the exact place on the top as the original. This I rejected again and a new one is going to be ordered.
The chip on both is between the electric and rear gas hob.
I think there is a serious fault in the quality control of Thretford cooker hobs.
Hope you can follow this.
Colin

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
The art of decent stove enameling has now receded into the far distance.:cry:

Does it warn in the user instructions not to clean with 'vigour' ?
If not, their response is unreasonable and would probably be rejected if you made a claim in court.
The hob should be fit for purpose which includes keeping it clean without damaging it
