I have the C250/260 cassette, new on the van 2 years ago, and when cleaning it after our last trip found the blade is "floating" about and not opening nor closing with the assembly when I move the opening lever on the main loo nor when I try with the orange/yellow thumb turn on top with the cassette out. I assume the blade should sit in the carriage and open with it but don't want to force the thing without knowing if there is another option. It seems none of the cassette comes apart for repairs. I've taken the rubber seal out to get a better look.

I blame the grandkids who delighted in using the loo on our last outing.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Probably just some paper jammed up around the mechanism, if you rotate the housing about 45 deg you can lift the plate out with the mechanism attached then get your hands dirty.

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Remember to use a pair of gloves before exploring further. Use the wife's best pair. (y)

Ah that's more like it! Second guessing @Tootles next bit of advice :cautious: I scrubbed it up a bit using the wife's new toothbrush but apart from managing to shift the blade to the other side of the carriage that didn't do any good. Now on the leisureshop pics, I guessed that top bit must come out somehow. (y)

You have to hold the tank a twist the top off it is tight and takes some force If the tank is a few years old may be worth resealing the top at same time, take a few photos as you strip it down helps when you rebuild it

Yep!

Grab it and give the whole blade assembly a twist counter clockwise.

A third of a turn and it comes apart.

Me too. If you haven't sussed it yet then, as said above, pull the sliding cover half out and using that as a lever twist the whole assembly a quarter turn anti clockwise until the raised arrow points to the second dot. The screws mentioned are inside holding the retainer.

Quick rinse, quick rinse? I'm much more particular than that. I have it soaking in the proper stuff I'll have you know. (y)
