Pitched in Auberge Les Pyramids in Erg Chebbi.

"Registered 3 degrees on the thermometer when having drinks outside the camper at around 8pm

Got to -4 degrees that we noticed during the night."

What were you doing outside at 3°?

We are tucked up with the gas blowing warm by sundown.
Bloody freezing in the gorges, but great scenery. Frost on the rooflight now.
Off to Ouarzazate tomoz and Taghazout asap for some heat.

It's nice to sit outside occasionally. We'd just finished walking back from that big dune where we watched the sunset so sat outside a bit chatting and drinking until we got hungry about 9pm.

Was even colder last night, we were out in the dunes at a tent camp for new years. Wash day today then we're heading west. We never did sort out extra gas for the van so just running with two 11kg gaslow tanks filled up in Spain. So we're somewhat conserving that for the time being. Been having a few roasts on the BBQ using campinggaz so been outside a lot for dinner really :)

We were the same last year. Filled up at Los Barrios near Algeciras. Acquired a Moroccan bottle in Marakech and got it filled with propane at Taghazoute Beach. Had taken a Gaslow pigtail which would enable us to connect the Moroccan bottle to the Gaslow filler point.

Many opted for butane at Taghazoute but the soot and differing flame temperature caused one or two people fridge problems. We opted for hook up wherever possible and cooked on a portable Moroccan small gas bottle and ring. Didn't use much in the way of heating, just hot water for showers etc. Got by without having to use the big Moroccan bottle as luck would have it, but we must have been very low by the time we docked in Algeciras.

If you are staying any length of time it could be worth buying the Moroccan bottle and adaptor they are available at all the soulks cheap to buy and only about a£1 for a refill. We used these for all our cooking and only really used the van gas for keeping the fridge going and heating water for showers, and after 9 weeks still had gas left when we came out.

When we were Camped at Erg Chebbi at night we lit tea lights in the Sand Dunes it was magic.

Weather today overcast 20c .so we have been backstreetin in Tagazoute and found 2 Ferans .bake houses for fresh bread straight from the oven .. Hub caps 1d each and one does Berber Bagettes as well .
Tonight the wind picked up when we were having sundowners with Dazlin so we dived into the van for the evening.
It is spitting with rainnow but it is still 20c outside at 9.30 pm and the wind has dropped .

Assilah has been wet for us a couple of times Ken.
Rain forecast for midday in Taghazout but good after that.
Wall to wall sun with clear skies promised for next week!
See you all soon.

We must be getting the same weather system here at Zahora. It peed down during the night and it's at least 10 deg colder than it was yesterday.
Getting excited about crossing on Tuesday.

It was just the same in Assilah last year- almost to the day in fact. Some are heading for Ocean Blue at Mohamedia but if they've had the rain we've had here the site will be well clarted with mud.

At Ocean Bleu nr Mohammedia. It's currently grey with an odd smattering of rain and quite cool. The site is damp but surfaces are all ok although the "lower" pitches have the odd puddle.

Had a cloudburst just north of Rabat - could see it miles away.

Left Assilah around 11:00 after deciding it was too wet and cowd to walk around. Concluded that Ocean Blue might be a bit squelchy so decided to head on down to Marrakech arriving around 6:30pm. It was pishing down with rain and the forecast for the next few days does'nt look much better.:(

After a lovely warm and sunny day yesterday, its much cooler again here this morning at Le Relais in Marrakech. Was hoping to have a full English al fresco but its started to rain.

Quite a few French leaving this morning with their quads in tow, so guess they are heading down to Agadir. Doubt they would be going over the Tizi-N-Tichka to Ouazarzate with trailers on the back, as there is lots of snow on the tops which is clearly visible from Le Relais.
