Let me introduce you to Lottie, she's a bit mucky after today's journey in horrendous rain, but she's home.

Congratulations Diggerdi on your new Pilote, we should hopefully be picking our new van up middle of this Month if it ever leaves Germany.

@chaser, we will be weighing it when loaded up . The payload should be 680 kg minus solar panel, 2nd battery and spare wheel (without carrier), should still leave us with about 600 kg. About 240 kg for the two of us + fuel and water. I'm quietly confident :D

Looks great hope you both enjoy. It looks similar size and payload to mine so I'm interested to see what weight you get. Just read about mickeys Chausson and got me a little nervous. My Chausson is under 7m with a payload of 690kg so shouldn't worry to much.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Spent most of yesterday putting everything in, finding where to put stuff was a test! Off out today to buy different crockery, I got a set from Wilko's, 4 of each dinner and side plates and bowls, but they are so heavy. Going to Ikea to get some of their Corelle like ones, 50p each:). We have a large high level locker above the fridge but it doesn't have a 'lip' on the front to stop things sliding out. Not sure what to put in there. It would be ideal for lightweight foodstuffs, eg cereal packets, but I think we will have to fit something to the front of the shelf.

Before trying the EHU we tried the fridge on gas but it wouldn't fire up, we could hear the ignition clicking and then the alarm sounded on the fridge. Could this have been because we weren't perfectly level? It worked fine on hook up.

The panel is also confusing (for us), understand the levels, but haven't tried the heating yet. I really should have videoed that bit at handover :(.

Ordered levelling ramps from Amazon, they will be here tomorrow (love Prime), going to get a hose from Wilko's, a watering can and funnel. Hope we'll be ready to go to Vanbitz on Tuesday.

Congrats!! Have many happy days travelling.

I'm still waiting:(, sometime in May I think! Got the watering cans, hosepipe, ramps and much more, (all sat in the garage waiting to be used).

@Diggerdi re the fridge it does sound like a gas shortage problem , light the oven to ensure gas is the line and keep it running for a min , same goes for the gas heater if you have one , if all is good with them then you know you have gas into the MH ok , so its deffo fridge related , Did you make sure the shut of valve for the fridge is open ??

@Bart, I was just going to comment that everything was working at Hayes at the handover, then I realised that he said he had only put a temporary gas bottle in to show us everything and said they would throw a new one in for free. We saw one of the lads putting this in whilst we were completing the paperwork, so he probably didn't turn it on. We are just about to go up to the 'van so will check it by trying the hob. We know it all worked on Friday.

Changing bottles etc can introduce a little air bubble into the line.
As @Bart suggests...
I was recommended to light a gas hob burner to help the gas flow if my fridge was reluctant to light.

Congratulations.....go have a few days away in your lovely new van as soon as you possibly can..until you do you're unlikey to know the very best place to put things. I've already re-arranged my cupboards twice and may do so again today after our 4th weekend away. It takes a little while to work out the best place to store things but once that's done life is a doddle!!! Enjoy your travels:whistle::D:Grin::drinks::dance2:

@Diggerdi At least it all worked on hand over so i'm sure its just a gas supply , it will most likely be they changed the gas canister for a new full one and never turned it on as they knew you were going to be driving in it. as they would have a duty of care to make sure the MH was "Road safe"

@Cuto, the card payment went like a dream, £48,000 gone in the blink of an eye. I did ring the bank the day before and told them the amount and the approximate time of the transaction and they put a note on the account.

@Bart, the bottle was turned off. On this motorhome we can travel with the gas on so we can use the heating.
