Yes did it with a deviation into Susa, Italy and back in October 2007 down the Monte Carlo Rally Route to Menton. All passes open - no snow on the road but on the mountains.

Spectacular scenery - driving challenging at times but not really a problem. Quite a few 'don't look down' moments.

Stopped at Bramans, Savines-le Lac, Barcelonnette, St-Martin-Vesubie, Sospel.

One deviation was Col de la Bonette at 2715 metres, and then ithe Cime de la Bonette at 2802 metres the highest paved road in France.

Hi David, I too have done this route back in 2003 and yes it has stunning views, Susa is a lovely little village you can wildcamp overnight in the village square, just don't try and park there until later in the day it gets very busy. There are some fabulous restaurants in Susa and its a wonderful place just to wander about.
You should have no problems with the roads just take your time
