We decided to cross the border from South West France into North East Spain via the old road rather than the motorway. This turned out to be the most brilliant of decisions and a scenic delight.

We use this road regularly when we take a long weekend at campinglaguna.com; we normally stop for lunch at Port Bou and carry on to Spain on this road(y)

avoid toll roads ,avoid motor ways . even avoid dual carriageways thats how we travel .
take your time drive into as many villages as you can . its a great adventure .
now you have tried it keep doing it . much more fun .

Sorry dryad I cannot guarantee we won't be there :)

We would very much like to come and see you all then if we can and maybe even break my leg or an arm this time . Failing that we can just bore you all too tears with tales of our adventures.

I remember it going north, two up on a bike, some of those drops certainly focussed the mind especially when a big coach came towards us.
