So sorry for your loss. R.I.P Bamse
I feel your pain, but remember Bamse is now pain free.
My dogs are getting old and will be 13 next week.
Tiny is now almost blind, and doesn't want to do much, but her brother is still up for anything and is always ready.
I nicknamed him ever ready.

Your happy memories will keep you going.

RIP Bamse.

I still miss my little cat I lost last year and I bet she was a lot less loyal than Bamse was.

We're really sorry to here about Bamse's passing They rely on us so much and they also give us so much love and caring back .
Our miniature Jack Russell Scrumpy she's coming up to 15 years old, blind in one eye and 75% blind in the other but quite fit for her age, she is the most intelligent dog I've ever owned.
I bought her for my late father nearly 15 years ago and when my dad was on his last 3 weeks of life in 2006 little Scrumpy jumped on his bed got as tight as she could against him and wouldn't leave his side.
She spends hours now as tight as she can by my side even as I'm writing this.

John & Scrumpy.

So sorry for you - we all know what a dreadful time it is, but remember the love and life you gave him, and how it was repaid 1000 fold. xx

So sorry to hear about Bamse.

Our dog is getting older and suffers from arthritis but we would never be without her. Stepping over her, lying in the motorhome, is all part of the big adventure.

Dogs give so much pleasure and ask for so little in return.

Yesterday's Shadow

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said " it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.

I am sorry to hear about Bamse. I feel your pain. Losing a loving pet is just like losing a family member, well they are that.
Try and take comfort knowing you turned his life around and gave him a good one.
@Dawn B7 I have read that poem several times in the past and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

My heartfelt sympathies, there will always be a Bamse-shaped hole in your lives. Time will ease the pain you're feeling now and you'll take comfort in the memories of your good friend.
