If you love beautiful scenery Bill always worth a visit. I went often in my youth ... lovely walks, and good pubs, water for Jay to mess around at the shores of the lakes, feed the ducks, etc etc.. Sure you will enjoy it but take an umbrella. :thumb:

We have a lodge in the lakes, and spend a lot of time up there, beautiful place, but as Joy says take an umbrella.
It didnt become the lake district by being a dry place.

But when it is sunny there's no better place.

Good on you, Dave. With all your current sadness it is wonderful to hear that you now have something to look forward to. Hope it goes really well for you. Joy:thumb:

Must recommend Rastellis opposite the cinema in Bowness, lovely food, we have been regulars in there for 10 years, may even be there at that time ourselves.

We're off to Coniston next weekend, staying at Park Coppice, great area for some real peace and quiet. I haven't looked at the weather [STRIKE]guess [/STRIKE]forecast yet but I'm sure there will be wine consumed and bikes ridden.

Bill, just got back from nearly a week there - fantastic and good weather just a bonus. We stayed just outside Kendal and toured in the toad from there. Lakeside motor museum and just down the road a steam train ride and engine shed - brilliant.
Superb break.

Nice to be able to recommend somewhere and good to hear that you liked it. We know Kevin (owner) and family and all the staff, we use it regularly and the food is always nice.

Wine is good too !!!!

Bill,
Your photos are dsisturbing.
It is wrong to threaten a little kid with a large mincing machine, and it's not right to make him wash the dixies in a cold stream.:ROFLMAO:

Good pics, though.
