Final booking everyone

From Luzern today.

Hi Brian

That's o.k. I let this 9 pitches reserved for you and your group without any advanced costs or costs if you don’t use all of them. But please, tell me if you know more about if they will come or not, also the day before your arrival you can let mi know about how many you will be, because normally we don’t take any reservation on pitches, but for groups we do it if necessary.
I will keep the pitches till 4 p.m. on your arrival day, afterwards I will give them to other guests if necessary, o.k.?

Glad to hear that your van is getting sorted out at last, must be a great relief for you.
With regards to Hilldwellers posting-----
Didn't Brisey put something up ? He seems to know what he's doing.
It's a case of the blind leading the blind.

One thing not mentioned in the list of things to take was Headlight Beam Deflectors.
You can get stick ons from Halfords which will suffice.
I will try to put a full list together and post it nearer to our departure date.

We are going up to Keukenhof first then heading down to Luzern

Arriving on the 12th and have booked Butterfly from 14th to 20th

We had put our name down for confirming in January, we had hoped to join in this great meet but alas with things that are going on here at the moment we cant say yay or nay yet, but perhaps if things change at a later date possibly join in at some stage

These are difficult times for most people not on fat index linked pensions.

I don't know if "what's going on" is financial or health/family but you've got the make sensible decisions. Don't feel pressured - that applies to all of the team. Even May 9th is not too late for a quick call to Butterfly and ask the pitch situation.

Just this minute had a reply from the Netherlands after I complained - "posted on 13th can take two weeks."

Maybe Vicarious aren't that bad after all :Smile:

ACSI DVD guide has now arrived from the Netherlands.

So it is Vicarious 1 : Netherlands 0.

It proudly claims 8600 camp sites in 29 countries inspected. With maps, route planner all for €15. It's the biggest bargain in camping.

Wife returned from Tescos yesterday, pale, shaking, she'd just paid £1.12 for the cheapest petrol.

At this rate we'll all be reduced to enjoying our MHs parked in our own drives.

Garda will be about 2500 miles for us, so around £600 in diesel.

Diesel is currently €0.92 per litre. works out at just over £1 per litre

Well I'm guessing at more like£2k for the month's holiday for two. Don't know how that compares to a package.

If fuel gets out of hand then another option is a little 60mpg box and use the cabins on these sites. Just as a quick guide I pulled up Eurocamp and they would sell me a cabin for £248 for ten days. We'll be paying €150 for the pitch with the discount card. Food for thought.

Fingers crossed it stays that low. I'll bet we'll see some horrifying prices on the motorways.

Actually travelex is selling at 1.1 today so 0.92/1.1=0.83.

You're close enough, how about you nip over and bring us some back ?

We have been in Spain for about a week got to a wifi site and found out that eventually the post office has done it's job. We have an email from butterfly acknowledging they have received our deposit, so we will meet you all in Italy.
