Can we drive the motorhome to see the Kelpies is there enough spaces for parking ect ?

Kate there is parking at the kelpies when we went last year there were about half a dozen motorhomes parked up but it was very busy.....we went on the bus from the wheel as I'm not too good at walking any distance. They seemed to run quite frequently I can't remember the cost but we bought a special ticket which lasted a few days I think and you could get on and off anywhere you wanted.

Yeh they had to come up with a plan so all the water wouldn't be at one end. Not much use if the boat is at the other!

Channel 4 at the moment has a programme which is going to show a boat using the Falkirk Wheel. Mrs Basil Fawlty is in it too!

That was very interesting but I'm a bit disappointed they showed very little of the wheel in action

Just been discussing this last night. Who if any of you would like to put out an awning? If most folk dont we can get another 6 or so onto the list.

Bear in mind it is Scotland and the car park we are on is at the top of the hill so could be windy. I will however put an order in for sunshine.

We are happy not to use our awning if it means more can join us

We will bring our awning in case it is required by others - and it would go on the grass if that helps. Not bothered about using it ourselves.

I insist upon enough room for my awning and separate car that I always tow, as well as my generator and enough room to put out loungers, BBQ and table . Oh forgot I am not on a Caravan Club site - in that case I won't bother with any of them!!

Hi Sandra

We will not be using our awning.

We have a stand-alone 3x3m shelter in lieu of an awning. It can only be pitched on grass unless someone else supplies some rock pegs.

We weren't planning on bringing it, partly because both space & payload will be tight, but if there is a need for the equivalent of a mini-marquee we can try & squeeze it in.

If the need is weather dependent, there will have to be some crystal ball gazing, because we will be leaving home on either the Sunday or Monday before the rally.
