IT'S HERE !! After 8 long months our lovely Transit Jumbo is on it's way to meet his new home. Still in my sling for 3 weeks more and initial physio session very painful, but we leave tomorrow morning for 1630 shuttle crossing. Plan is heading straight down to La Rochelle with a stop in the middle if necessary. Few things......

1 - is it okay to arrive around 2 am on an aire ? Or is it frowned upon?
2- Wld love to break around Chartres, seems a bit short on aires tho, anyone know any where we can walk into the town easily - can't cycle, no shoulder !
3- anyone know any really nice acsi sites or Aires within walking distance of La Rochelle and pretty as we'll be there around 3 days.

    Thanks :)

Municipal in Chartres, easy walk into town, cathedral worth looking around and some nice shops and restaurants, just a short walk along the river. Don't know if its in the ACSI book.

Yeah we really wanted to see the cathedral, so thought if we could park on the way down to the Vendee overnight, we could have a few hours there fore we left. Will google it. Merci :D

Oooh, are we ok to park up around midnight there ? We're leaving Calais at 1800.
