Does any such equivalent exist - particularly in France.

We are contemplating a MH purchase and like the appeal of staying on CL style sites in Europe. We used to caravan years ago and liked Caravan Club CL's but we had kids then and when we went to France on our main holiday we tended to go to large sites with all the facilities (pool etc) - we would no longer need any of these and would appreciate the peace and quiet of small(er) sites so are curious about the existence (or otherwise) of such sites.

    Thanks.

Not as such, French Municipal Sites are the nearest equivalent .. basic sites run by the local council , in most towns , prices vary but around €15 with an EHU

French aires are an other option but they are not sites, great for overnight stops or a couple of days.. some free , some a small charge, all have water and waste dumping, some have EHU ... all great value.. in most towns and villages.

I've never found a site that lists all the Municipals... but plenty for aires.. two very good ones.

Whilst wending my way through France I have often seen Camping a la ferme (spelling ???) signs !

Camping on the farm is a rough translation !!:thumb::thumb::thumb:

EDIT.....Bingo !!!! Just googled the above .....Result, there is an organisation ! go to their site and click on stays !!

Cheers all - the Camping a la ferme thing is exactly what we are looking for I think.

We are going to France in June so will look out for the guides.

    Many thanks.
