Hey Funsters.

I was taking the MH back to storage after fitting a few things and on the way back i was sat at the lights, Right next to me was three "CHAVS" in a what they called pimped out Fiesta! Yes big exhaust,a wonder tail fin, Lovely tinted windows, and i bet if at night he had neons.... Anyway i had the window down and was greeted with "Hey Mr what the F**K is that pile of Caravan, you lot should be shot holding the traffic up everyway," and as i looked at the goon i slowly said "And your the future of GB god help us" as that was said the light's went green and i have to say 2.3 130bhp and 320nm of torque the Chavs were as i called "shown" well pleased that the girl managed to give about a good car length upto about 60 ::bigsmile:, So to mr Chav if your out there you lost and one up for Funsters..... this was on a 60 limit carriage way before anyone thinks i was doing wrong lol....

I have to say, I honestly never let anyone beat me at traffic lights. I left everyone standing. ::bigsmile:
Always an adrenalin rush, but fun, don't do it now though I am happy to take the remaining time I have left at a much slower pace, I want to live forever.:winky:

Hi JJ

I had a van (I think a 97E or it may have been a 100E) with side widows with the side valve engine with the same overdrive system. A friend crashed his Escort into a lamp post so I removed the fold down rear seat and other trim from the Escort and put into the van.

It went like stink, but as the overdrive also worked on the reverse gears as well it came in handy when I was going along a road with 20ft snow drifts making the road single track only. I met a bus so had to reverse over a mile. The bus driver was surprised that I Cord go so fast back wards. I also showed an MG sports car a clean pair of heals driving back over the Yorkshire/North Durham Moors on one occasion. He kept catching me up but on hills I could drop half a cog and get the advantage again.

This was my first "Wild Camping" vehicle (Airbed & Sleeping bag in the back)and it was used most weekends, out with the Scouts or Potholing.

Traded it in for a an eighteen month old 1960 Consul "Farnham" Estate that gave me more luxury and space in the back (over 6 ft) and better fuel consumption.
