As mentioned elsewhere, while in Benidorm we hired a tandem mobility scooter.. Folk we hired it from gave us a really great deal thanks in no small part to @Snowbird 's introduction to them ( I thank ewe Dave !! LOL !)

So I decided that when we got home I would build one to save the rental costs..

And the beast lives !!
Finished making up the new stretched loom this morning, stuck a couple of very duff old Honda Blackbird batteries on it and it moves !!

Now started rubbing down all the crappy bits ( I have been slowly turning blue with the dust for the last hour or so ! )

For those that missed the picture, this is basically it.. ( LOTS of work to tart it up now !! )

Now I like that John. I would have thought there was a niche market for those in the UK. Loads of singles for sale on the bay, but never seen a tandem. You will of course need a bigger trailer.

I would imagine he will be travelling on the footpath with it, so wont matter if its road legal or not.

Yes it is street legal in the UK but in all honesty I aint that fussed cos it will only ever be used in Beni..
No trailer ! It will be mounted on the back of the van instead of the motorbike .. We only used the bike 4 or 5 times the whole time we was there..

Once the buggy is finished I have got to set about Building a carrier for it.. All I will do is make another thing similar to the bike carrier but make it wider to take the buggy.. The beauty of the rack I use / made is that I can simply slip one attachment off and slip a different one on..

We have a doggy cart that will proly end up as a trailer for it !! ( dunno where I could get a Bowler hat shaped sunshade though ! )

Weeeeeellll So far all we have done is get him to retrieve stuff from in it and run through it ( Like a tunnel in an agility test )
He is still not happy about it so it is permanently set up in the conservatory so he gets thoroughly used to it being around

Slow and patient are the watch words

Saw one like that at Jurby in the IOM,looked just like a standard mobility scooter,except for the wheely bars.
Then the fun started GSXR motor hidden under the cover,sounded wonderful and did it ever go,would scare you half to death but what fun!
