We have travelled today and were concerned about the fuel supply. We had no problems finding DERV but noticed that prices had gone up.

The weather in our region is scheduled to improve in temperature from tomorrow, possibly up to 27C but with the "odd" thunderstorm. Having experienced Burgundian thunder storms we will carry our steel reinforced umbrellas, just in case!

The French workers have thoroughly got their panties in a tangle over Hollande's attempt to reform French employment law. However, it appears that, this time, the Government may be deciding to ride out the storm. Normally they capitulate after a few strikes.

Setting things on fire is the preferred tactic of French Unionists. Pile tyres on the road, set them alight, then harass motorists as the Police stand-by, watching. This time the Police appear to be getting "stuck in". It I'll be interesting to see how things develop. In the meantime refilling the fuel tank at three quarters full seems like a sensible move.

We have 2 on display, 1 either side of the cab.

We Spent 3 weeks, covered almost 3 thousand miles, stayed on motorway Aires, village Aires, sites, never saw a single fun sticker.

The only one I've ever seen was at Kelvedon Hatch, a C&CC site a few miles from our house when we were rushing to get home one Sunday morning.
Still not seen one!

I am sure people think we are potential thieves as we walk around camp sites and Aires peering at windscreens.

There must be some out there somewhere.

View from our pitch this morning.

Camping Vert Lagon, Marnay, near Besancon.

Five minute (max) walk into old French village. Some interesting old houses.

Site has swimming pool, good sanitary facilities and small bar/snack bar. Canoe hire available immediately outside the site.

Probably too late now as it looks as though you are heading back North but there is a lovely area where we go cycling called the "Vercors" stunning scenery and pretty deserted - look up Combe Laval not sure I'd take a MH up there though.
We are flying down to Lyon next Thursday and driving hire car Mont Ventoux for a bike ride - hope the situation has improved by then with the Diesel!

No. Not heading North yet.

We will be staying at our base in Burgundy for another couple of weeks or so when we leave here, then heading back to UK for three weeks to see family. Then back here for July, August and September, although we will not have the Motorhome with us then, only the car.

This retirement game is stressful, isn't it!:):):)

So, after the wettest May for 139 years we have given in and returned to UK for a few weeks.

We have work to do on our house (moved here in November).

For those of you thinking of going to France for your holidays we would offer the following.

On our return journey through France we saw many rivers that were full but not overflowing. We had no problems getting fuel and even where filling stations have increased prices due to "shortages" it was still at least 20 pence per litre less than prices in the UK.

We will be heading back to France at the end of June. Even with these strange variations in weather it is still the general rule that the the further south you go the better the weather.

But, there again, we are Francophiles.

By the way, the reports on British TV regarding he industrial unrest in Ftrance are, in our opinion, exaggerated.

It is true that in the major cities you may come across demonstrations. Outside the cities, where less people are employed by the State, there is little disruption.
