Very pleased with it:thumb:........saves so much cash and f*rting around with chemicals

Absolutly no smells inside or outside and I have tried sticking my nose in it with the fan running

Bought it at Peterboro' show (approx £95 I think) & fitted by Marquis £50

Yes am pleased with it...No it doesn't smell.....Don't know how much it was as it was fitted on the van.

Very pleased with it - no smells outside - no smells inside - no complaints from anyone else - no more chemicals.

I know some people say it smells bad when a chemical-free 'SOG cassette' is emptied, but then it's only a natural smell - in fact we need to be a bit closer to reality than trying to disguise everything that might not be welcome at a fashion show in my view. I don't find the smell that offensive anyway.

It took me a morning to fit it myself - and that was going slowly to ensure I didn't drill any holes in the wrong place.

All in all - one of the best accessories I've got in the motorhome.

I was very pleased with the two I had.
However on this self build it was on the jobs list (so to speak) but never got round to doing it. i don't use any chems and still not sog and won't bother now.
i have got used to the smell when emptying now

Fitted self (45mins max first time) if you dont attract an audience or it will take a couple of hours
Would not be without one 10/10

Starting from the start..

Without a SOG you ( well me anyway ) would normally put about an inch of water in the empty cassette.. with the SOG a 1/4" is enough.. so straight away more room for 'doings'

Next, when you go, you have the flap open.. Numbers ones obviously makes little difference but number two's I ( and I believe most folk although there are variations ) pump about an inch or two in the pan so your business goes in to water and does not stink!
No need for that .. business goes straight down the hole.

Also with solids, I took a tip from others on here, and cover the hole over with a couple of sheets of paper.. Does not always work but 90% of the time that stops anything touching the sides at all.. Again minimising flush or water down the hole

(charming subject this aint it ! LOL !! )

As long as the flap is open the flap runs so draws any and all pongs straight out of the filtered vent
Other advantages..
The flow of air through the cassette and over the doings helps generate the enzymes that breaks it all down and that means less smell anyway

( starting to feel like someone on the Shopping channel .. Can you imagine them trying to sell a SOG on QVC ? )

All in all, where as you would normally have MAYBE 40% bizz and 60% water ( yep, work it out !! ) with the SOG you are probably gonna end up with 70% bizz and 30% water

Hi John have a search on here for DIY SOG
I have most of the parts you require in the garage some where -fan pipe,micro switch and wire. I can send them to you if you want ?All you would need is a piece of cooker hood filter and a single socket box and blanking plate.:thumb:I may well have them as well but it would require some searching in the garage

I think one thing to mention that has been overlooked or taken for granted is....,
Because you're not using chemicals there is no need to get your money's worth
i.e. you can empty it as often as you like keeping it easy to manage and clean while it is only part full.

Don't have a SOG but thought about fitting one however as we haven't used any chemicals and haven't had a problem I don't think we will bother now. If the smell when emptying is a problem others here have suggested using fabric softener:thumb:
