Hi,

What's the deal with Swiss Motorway vignettes?

I have read that vehicles over 3.5t are subject to a lump-sum heavy vehicle charge. My miro is just under this but have a pretty decent payload that could (will) take it over this. My question is what is actual common practice?

Cheers

It is your plated weight that matters not your actual or anything else

For a short visit the HVF is actually cheaper than the vignette:

The vignette is €40 for a year

The HVF is €3,25 per day and you have to buy 10 day blocks.

The hgv form is easy enough and cheaper if using Switzerland to get to italy or south France etc. way cheaper than go box as well. If however you are stopping in Switzerland the price of the toll is the least of your worries.
