Farewell fellow Funsters, we strike for the coast and tides of France on the morrow.

We ramble in search of sun, wine and sea.

We have 10 days from Calais, we're thinking of La Rochelle etc but....weather not looking promising so any ideals?

Locations preferred by the beach, aires or sites but would like to use our loungers/awnings etc

Any recommends?

I have noticed that all the French beaches I've seen so far seem HUGE compared with ours. They seem to stretch to the far horizon at each end (unless there are cliffs to break the view) and more often than not they seem far less crowded than British beaches. :thumb:

nowhere near long enough
If time permits try to head down the coast towards Biarritz apparently it is one of the better climates where the French go to retire as an alternative to the Med. and there are some nice aires down there
