does the sunday no hgv rule in switzerland apply to motorhomes?
our itinerary at the moment shows arriving in switzerland on a sunday, happy to pay for the 10 day in 12 month tariff, (especially as will be skiing in feb) but will the customs let us proceed on our way to germany - we are plated 3.85

Does not apply to you as you are not a goods vehicle.

not long enough
as above, same applies to France , its a great time to travel, but don't expect to find any room in the motorway services, they will be chocka with lorries.

Comment based on France, I did not know the same law applied to Switzerland, and service areas in Switzerland are probably not the same as France

Thank you, but a gentleman would reply " of course you're not overweight" and "no your bum does not look big in that" :ROFLMAO:
That said, when I looked on the Swiss websites there did not seem to be any differentiation between goods vehicles and camper vans - just weight.

as stated by others no problem arriving on a sunday but you will still need vignette best to stop at any motorway services approx 20 to 40 kilometers from swiss border just go to counter and buy a vignette for 3500 cost you 7.50euros stick it in front of windscreen and when you reach swiss border control just point to it and customs will just wave you through (normally) jt

Thought about getting a vignette but we are not actually eligible and quite obviously appear over 3.5 tonnes, so did not want to fall foul of Swiss customs - they are a very law abiding bunch!
I am happy to pay for the 10 individual day access which will last 12 months and take us through the skiing period, but was anxious not to pitch up at customs to purchase and then not being able to go any further.
However I am now reassured by the post regarding freight, so should now be ok.
