You have to give more information!!!!

Was it the fridge gas? or the cooker gas?

.......the clue is in the title .

Very difficult to diagnose at a distance, but I assume the gas is working elsewhere?
(e.g. hob - If not, the gas supply or regulator is suspect).

    Other things to check are:

    i) you're waiting long enough for the gas to get through before attempting to light (has been known to take some tens of seconds after gas has previously been turned off).

ii) gas supply at bottle AND gas isolation tap for fridge turned on?

iii) if it's not a piezo ignition (not sure on that model), is 12v caravan supply on to power spark unit?

iv) are you holding in/down or whatever any flame failure device that is fitted (need to override this on lighting).

    v) have you checked any troubleshooting instructions in the manual?

Add this one to your list.

On the side of the van behind the fridge on the outside of the MH. There will be the vents, take the bottom one off (undo two retaining clips by sliding) and you will see the strike and the pilot. attempt to get the gas lighting and you should see a regular spark at the gas pipe trying to ignite. It is often that the strike gets bent away from the gas supply and does not ignite properly. Just need the strike bent very slightly toward the gas. (carefull when doing so, if brittle can break)

I do agree with Doug though (and boy thats rare:Wink:) a little more info about what you have tried when last worked how noticed etc might help.

Thank you Robinhood & Haganap for your replys

The fridge does have a piezo ingnition, Have took your sugestions and retried, waited a good while to make sure gas would be through.
Lighting it saw it spark clearly,no blue flame. All gas connections on.
Unfortunaley dont have a full manual for the fridge.
    Can i ask........should i clearly see a blue flame when it's lit ?

    Manual is downloadable from http://www.dometicmanuals.com/PROD/MASTERDometic.nsf?Opendatabase

(Put RM4260 in Model and English in Language - then search)

You should see a flame if there is one.

If it is sparking but not lighting, are you overriding the flame failure device? Needs to be held in/down during lighting and for a small time afterwards, otherwisw gas will not flow.

If its sparking and the pilot light does not light the gas is not getting through.

The pilot light is a safety feature and has to be lit for the fridge to work.

We have a similar problem, what Mrs ShiftZZ does is to light the cooker ring, have a fag, burning the gas appears to 'pull' the gas through and the fridge works.

    Works for Mrs ShiftZZ..

Dont ask me why, it just does....

It might be a daft question, but you are pressing and holding the gas control knob when you press the igniter?

    Hello,
Had similar problem with mine last year,
If you enter the spark flame area as described earlier by going through the bottom vent, then check where the gas comes out. Mine had a large lump of soot on the jet.
Whilst open just give that area a quick hoover to clean dust up and keep fingures crossed.

    Good luck with it.

    Safe travels

I tend to agree with Upmarkethippy. Jet could be slightly blocked with dirt or dust. Had that problem many times with my last MH. Remove vent, first blow out all the dust in that area, then use a powerful hoover to suck out any particals. Hopefully it should work.
