Back to the Pyrenees this yr and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for locations. Being Keen cyclists we need somewhere that offers good family cycling whilst also being in range of some col's (im ticking off the tour climbs).
Looking more for low key sites rather than big and brash.
Cheers

Fantastic location, run by the most friendly family.
Very popular with cyclists, with several bike shops in the nearby town of Cauterets
Can't comment on the quality of cycle routes, as we were hiking...
Loved the place - we will be back (y)

Since 2011 therefore I'm not a newbie anymore
In our early 50's we did a 2 week credit card Tour of the Cathar Castles on our Roberts touring bikes. From Narbonne ( Bike Bus) Then towards the base of Pyrenees at Fiox and then along the rivers towards Perpignan and back to Narbonne to pick the Bike Bus up again

Wherever you go you will find cols of differing heights, but do not go to near to the Pyranees with the family as it goes steep very quickly!

Ps the wine and Castles are great!

Enjoy and Have a great time

Cheers folks. We spent some time around luz St sauveur a couple of yrs ago but they had just had major floods and roads were missing and the tourmalet was shut (one on my climbing tick list). May give it another try as it was lovely. Lourdes was funny, the Catholic Las Vegas!
