Setthorns used to be one of my favourite places to visit anywhere.

In an earlier life I would spend holidays there with my family.

My brother used to love it there too.

When he knew his life was nearly over he decided to have a family get together there. He and his wife had a caravan parked there permanently. Our two families gathered there as we had done many times before. I believe the place had just been taken over by some new "group" (Forest Holidays?). The warden wouldn't let me stay because the (home built) Wagon did not have any windows in it. Despite the reason for my visit and the fact that I had stayed there many many times before... now I could not come on site.

To say we were upset would have been mild. I contacted head office. Answer came back "No, not allowed on now..."

I was so upset I contacted the press but nothing came of it.

I parked up off site and walked in for the get together.

Later, when I got the Hymer which of course was allowed, I returned for a visit with my son and daughter "for old times sake" we had trouble with the rules over my daughter's tent...

Nothing to do with the wardens... just the rules I guess.
