It has been hissing down here since 11 last night, Strong gusts of wind thunder and lightening and not expected to stop until midday. Already there is damage to some awnings and quite a few gazebos will be in the bin later, just hope the folk on lower ground are OK especially those at the bottom on La Toretta which has recently been repaired after flooding earlier this year.

Thats a shame about the damaged equipment. Perhaps tbe storm took them unawares and they never had time to take the awnings down..I can see where their xmas money will be spent this year.

Oh bugger! I'll just keep this to myself and not mention it to Ginny . Now pleased I have a stout awning and I'd better keep the wellies in the van just in case!

All joking aside, stay safe everyone.

Rained heavily here overnight but stopped before daylight. I can see blue on the horizon coming from the west so it should arrive in Benidorm sometime after it gets here! Tomorrow looks OK there.

That's the problem with the rain in Spain, might not rain very often but when it does..........!!
Hope there is not too much damage and nobody hurt.

Since 2007. But no more.
Have there been any casualties ? That is a lot of water.

No one hurt, but lots of vans have been pulled, out with owners asking the management for compensation.

It's still raining, but not as much, though the water is still pouring in from higher ground.

Apparently this is the second time within a month.

We only heard about it from a couple who have been here a while, which is why we moved to higher ground at the earliest opportunity.

I can't see anyone wanting to come back to this site, after this.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it just did!

A river now runs through camping La Toretta!

This caravan was raised 2 feet just for such an event!

:cooler:

That really does look pretty scary! I'm quite feeling now for those folk cleaning up the mess running through awnings and groundsheets etc. You don't really think when pitching a caravan or motorhome about being on high ground like you would for a tent!

Was it a slow build of of lying water or did it run down from higher ground?
