Hello
We are travelling down to Brighton from Edinburgh and are going to leave after work tonight to break the journey, any suggestions of a good stop over spot near the M6. I reckon we will get to Preston area maybe a bit more South in around 3 hours so that will be about 9ish tonight. Do campsites let you arrive that late?
Thanks
Vikixx

We don't really mind, we are 7.5 metres plus bikes and have 3 kids under 9 so it needs to be safe, are the truck stops safe at night?
Thanks

The one at Crewe is as safe as houses. It is 24hr protected. It can be a bit noisy with the odd lorry moving off but it is safe.

here are the details with phone number, tell them you are a trucker and just check they wont mind in the motorhome, tell then your educating your kids. ::bigsmile:Link Removed

From the north leave the M6 at Junction 29 - or from the M61 leave at junction 9.

Bank Head Lane, Bamber bridge, Preston.

Hi

Not quite so far down there is a site at Tebay services. Have used this a few times, you also get vouchers for meals at a discount.

If you book they seem to take late arrivals no problem, but not cheap.

This is an independent service stop not your usual stop food V good
