Hi, just back from the Beer Festival in Stonehaven. We were onsite at the CC site. We noticed last night that there were some motorhomes down at the harbour area. Some on the harbour wall and a couple in the car park at the harbour. Is this a wild camping area or is it frowned upon? We know a lot park up by the open air pool at times. Thanks

Have a look at this street view of the Harbour Parking Notice.. it shows areas where there is No Parking..

Just my understanding.. don't quote me..
As a general rule, provided you are parked legally, there is no law that says you can't sleep in your vehicle .. you must not put out a step, use steadies or any other kit that looks like you are camping.. and don't outstay your welcome..so .. move off next day.. It's those who 'camp' for days on end that are giving the considerate wild camper a bad reputation..
