Is it parked alongside Loch Assynt on the A837, that looks like Quinag in the background?

It is unlikely to come up this way but we will keep a look out up here.

Did I read about another van being stolen in Skipton, a couple of weeks ago, or am I imagining it?

It came up on my fb page from a friend. There is a £1000 reward posted for safe return, i believe it was taken on Tuesday from Skipton.

That should be easy to spot a very distinctive van! Unless it's gone underground in a camp somewhere .

Parked up within a couple of miles awaiting it to cool down or tracker to let them find it.
Go in a line from the place stolen and the nearest ' encampment then carefully look in all the odd places across a mile wide band in that direction. It will soon sprout a set of Southern Irish number plates that refer to no vehicle and it will then disappear into the never never land of travelers and caravans. ANPR will never pick it up as there is no references to these on the database. Free to roam at will.
It is always worth putting a picture out on the local area page of Facebook, as the local area page will have loads of eyes looking for it for you
