Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Does it have to be a 'step ladder'. ie with a support leg? I got rid of mine, and now carry one of these. They come in a range of sizes, and are very easy to store. (y)

I have one of these but the smaller version..
Brilliant as lightweight and folds to nothing....
AND... When i got mine it was £9 delivered.... REAL BARGAIN :)
Mine is a little short for some jobs so depends on what you want it for..

We use a lightweight 4 step ladder bought from e-bay, straps to the bike rack, and does for most on the road jobs

I have a 3 stepper, 3steps on BOTH sides so you can have a leg EACH SIDE therefore have a better balance, you can also stand on the top step safely.
Made by Baily, not quite sure if I've spelt that correctly, had it for a while and the name has become illegible, from memory cost me somewhere in the region of £45- £65

We got a 3 step one from Dyas in one of their many sales at £19.99, I needed it to put up the awning! :D
It is similar to this, only 3 steps (obviously)
