Hi all
i am planning a trip to Normandy and brittany in mid july

i am looking for a place to stop over on the way from Calais.

I have been told St Valerey is nice but the are 2 St valerey's in this area

Sur Somme or En Caux

Does any one have any views as to wich one is nicer and also if there are any Municipal campsites nearby?

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren
If you look at the left hand column on the home page, click on Resources - Downloads there are a couple of downloadable files that will have a lot of the information you need re aires and municipal sites

There will be others along with more info
Cheers

St Valery-s-Somme has an excellent Aire with lots of demarcated parking and in a lovely riverside (Estuary?) location with a castle and lots of restaurants.

Hi Darren,

St Valerie en Caux is nice, and has a half decent aire, but it is popular, and can be "very cosy". :Eeek:
We were there in September, and if you are not on the Aire by 14.00 ish, you'll struggle to get in.

In the photo, you'll see them queuing up for a space, and in the morning, as you move out, they are straight in.

It is very popular with the French..............probably because it is free. :ROFLMAO:

HTH,

Jock.

P.S. Sorry, I don't know about any municipal sites in the area.

Hi Darren,
We are at this moment in France and sitting on a fantastic Aire at the En Caux variety. It is on the sea front with the village about 100 yards away. Cost is zero but the rain is also present.

Hi
There is a municiple site at St valarie en Caux, it is up the hill from seafront aires, coming into the town there is a roundabout turn right down the hill its on the left, if you went straight on there is a L Elerque supermarket, but it does have height barriers, but you can park down the side of it, it is also a fuel station.

Thanks for the replies everybody sounds like they are both good choices.
Camping in an old VW Camper so no toilet or shower on board, so will probably need a municipal site.

We have stayed on the aire at........ .sur Somme and the municipal site at .....en Caux
Both are excellent but the aire is much cheaper.
