Yes I have some, from the front, comes and goes especially when its hot and sunny. Stops squeeking when I touch the brakes but soon reappears. Used to be a case of greasing the back plates of the pads. Is this still the case? Has anyone invented anything else yet? or could the problem be something else.

Thanks

hi Paul,

remove pads, thoroughly clean pads, shims and piston ends and smear brake grease on the back.

short of renewal its the easiest and probably the only cure.

dont forget to lube the securing pins/springs at the same time.

could be lack of anti squeal plates behind pads (had new pads lately)try a little grease as yiu say. could be if you have changed pads its a different pad texture. there used to be 15 grades with a vw. hard to soft. could also be rust on edge of disc. cheers alan.
