I have had massive problems with the 4th of the 5 pitches weve dug here. I had 2 fresh water springs, now I have 3:cry:

We've dug channels either side of the pitch using proper field dranage pipes and £200 of washed pebbles, the water is then carried away through 100m of pipe to a ditch, its pouring out fast enough to fill a bucket in 5 seconds! I thought this had fixed it, but its now coming up in the middle of the pitch:Doh: Looks like we will be a 4 pitch CFL with pool:Eeek:

5th might be useable in a dry summer, as long as you haven't dug through a water main :roflmto:

When will you be open for business?

JDee and us are planning a Wales trip in the spring {no pun intended :ROFLMAO:)

We have enough water to bottle it, we thought about it once, Ginnie, our eldest, came up with a great name for it "Well Wicked Water" :roflmto:

Maybe I'll print a couple of labels and offer a bottle complimentary bottle of "well Wicked" to all who stop:Smile: Or alternatively, if they are on pitch 4 they can bottle their own:roflmto:

i know how you feel Jim, when i dug the inspection pit in my garage i hit an underground stream...the ground round us is riddled with 'em

my only options were to fill it in or dig a sump and chuck a submersible float switch pump in it.

second option won :thumb:

last time the pump failed (cheap chinese crap) i had 8000 liters in there :Eeek:

I think we have done it, dug it out again, another load of clean stone then three field drainage pipes buried in washed pebbles sloping off to take it to one of the other water routes we had dug out. More stone on top, just had a 3 ton vibrating roller over it and it did not draw any water so looks like its a good un. 5 pitches::bigsmile:

I suppose we are open:thumb: I will build a web page describing it as soon as I have the time. Presently I'm just jumping through the hoops to become an official Red Kite feeding station, chances of obtaining the lcence is slim but if we get one then feeding the kites that already live here will add to the experience.

Congratulations Jim :thumb: ... anyone visiting your CFL will not be disappointed with the views! we can vouch for that :thumb:
Red Kites we love them - only very rarely spot one in Hampshire, feeding them Jim will keep you in the red ... best steak and all that ::bigsmile:

That is sods' law - lay all the pipework, and then find a source of free water!

Hopefully, is should be ok now. The water tables will be quite high at the moment with all the snow/rain - they should drop a bit by summer!
