A Mercedes Sprinter has a single leaf transverse spring on the front axle.
I understand a twin leaf is available anyone have any idea how it will affect permissible axle weight/rating. I assume it uprates it but by how much and is it easy to change vin plate details to reflect the change or does it involve a lot of paperwork.

Well thats that idea out of the window, spring failed MOT and turned out to be a double heavy duty spring anyway. New on being fitted tomorrow. It appears the life of springs is not what they once were.

Jones Springs in Walsall are your men. There is nothing they don't know about springs and will alter anything to suit. Had my rears re-tensioned and an extra leaf put in by them last year. They have spring specs going back to the horse and cart.
