Spot bulbs. Is D4 same as G4 (1 Viewer)

I was hoping to replace my spotlight bulbs in my AS Pollensa with the LED type.
Various suppliers state that the LED bulbs can be straight swapped for G4 bulb (halogen I think). When I removed a bulb to check, it does look like the G4 type, but it has this on it.

KD D4 12V 10W

As the LED's are quite pricey I thought it wise to check first.

from what i can see the D4 is a specialist bulb...and is different to a G4

find a motor factors, even trade only, give them a ring, always foud the answer to bits there, before funsters of xcourse :thumb:

the only referance i can find on the web is to specialist diving equipment...dive torch's/lamps ect.

and the usual HID D4 headlamp bulbs.

the D4 is an equivilent to a UK400...whatever that might be!!!

you can buy G4's for less than £2 from china via ebay.
