In Spain you are a car and although their tolls have seemed to creep up a little, they are still much cheaper than France and their roads are better.

When we travelled from Santander to southern Spain in a 6-metre low-profile coach built, charged the same as a car all the way!

Great value and MUCH cheaper than French autoroutes. No traffic either, until we reached the Costa del Sol, oh and some around Madrid too.

They could not be dearer than France without the toll booths being manned by men wearing masks and carrying pistols.

Nothing to do with length, height or weight. It's how many axles, wheels and whether and what you're towing. If you are just the van then you'll be "Ligeros" - "light". Details - choose the Autopista then look at the prices for your route.

From my limited experience on the roads in North/central/West Spain it will be the same as car (class 1) but coastal/East Spain its a different matter, quite a lot dearer.

We will be travelling from Bilbao to Granada via Vallalodid in our 6m van.
We want to get to Granada fairly quickly but not rushed so looking at the options and related cost.
Using the "autopistas" website the cost for the toll is given as "Light/Light Industrial/Heavy industrial - Euros 43.60/75.85/85.05" respectively.
I assume that the "Light" would apply to the campervan but obviously there is a significant difference between "Light" and "Light Industrial".
I also asked about installing Via T and got this reply:

"For the time being it is only available to residents of Spain with a residence permit (NIE), a Spanish bank account and a delivery address in Spanish

territory".

Should have added that Bilboa/Granada (leaving out Vallalodid) autopista's website gave "21.40/39.95/44.20" so cheaper.

If you really want to use Spanish tolls https://www.tolltickets.com/ might interest you I will credit @Kevan for the link as I pinched it from him on another thread on French tolls.

We have just paid 50 euros from valencia to barcelona using tolls most of the way. We thought that was quite dear. We are six wheels and towing a car so presumably not getting away with car prices!
