Spanish toll payments

Good old cash works a treat! RHD was a bit of a pain, but get out and walk to the toll booth when the vehicle in front has pulled up, and it cuts down the hooting!

We pay using a Post Office Credit Card, quick easy , no signature , swipe and go. No commission to pay abroad using the Post Office Credit Card :)

Unless you have deep pockets or need to get there fastest route stay off the toll roads as the others roads are just as good, if a little busy at times as the Spanish refuse to use toll roads. If you using a "sat nav" set it to avoid toll roads and you will get there just the same.

I always use my credit card at a manned booth.. Quick swipe and a receipt given back with the card and your on your way.. Lot faster than sitting there counting out loads of change or giving a big note and having a handful of change back...

Don't use the tolls. We go every year to southern Spain and have never needed them. The main roads are more than adequate and are usually parallel with the toll roads. Sometimes there is even a free motorway running alongside as well?
