Spain - Easter Monday bank holiday? (1 Viewer)

Arriving in Santander, via Plymouth ferry,on Easter Monday. As its a public holiday will there be much open re fuel stations or supermarkets?

Wondering if we should fill up and get some supplies in Plymouth.

Should be ok on the fuel front...

Some of the big garages do sell a few odds & ends... especially on the Motorways..

But daily provisions bit less so... all the big named ie Carrefore... Auchan... Eroski... Hipercor etc, doubt you will find any of these open on a public holiday...

A lot of the small family type do grab any chance of trading these days.. and some open just for a few hours...

I would top up on the essentials before you leave the uk... just to carry you over the holiday period... :thumb:

Fuel is as grim as home here in Spain, might as well arrive with a full tank.

The only real bargain is Soberano. At €7.50 a 1l bottle it's the smoothest path to alcoholism there is.

Easter Monday isn't a public holiday generally in Spain - only in Catalonia and Valencia - won't affect you getting off the ferry!

Diesel cheaper in Spain

Diesel is 1.40€/litre here near Malaga so much cheaper than back in the UK.
