    Hi

Has anyone visited the Southport air show?
If so, I've noticed that the organiser charges for entrance which is discounted now, but goes up for paying on the gate on the day.

I was under the impression that it was free and just a case of looking up into the sky.

So, what does the entrance fee get you?
I know that they use the beach as a landing strip - does the fee get you closer to the action?
    Any ideas?

The fee gets you nearer the action. However I walked to the junction of Hesketh Drive and the Marine Drive and the Red Arrows etc. were assembling for their run in over the sea front above me. I will be going there again this year got some good pix of them overhead and over the Ribble Estuary.

If you want to park close by free , i parked on mcdonalds , this was in 2013. They charge for admission to the beach area and it is fenced off but you can watch from anywhere really .enjoy your day out . CSC_1124.JPG

Just a 'heads up' for anyone thinking of going.
Vulcan and the Red Arrows will be flying together for the very last time on Saturday.
Make the most of Vulcan while you can.

You can park up on the pleasureland car park -water and elsan poiunts available-was £10 per night but may be a little more with the air show being on . its just across the road from the beach and close to morrisons.
Techno's picture from the beach side shows the pleasureland site -its just to the right of that.

If you go on the day, get there early wherever you intend to go.

Be prepared for a long wait on all roads out at the end.

It's £20 a night Friday and Saturday !! Then back to a tenner. They are expecting it to be busy so Barbara has advised you need to book and arrive on Friday. Said they will not be taking any vans in on Saturday.

    Can't wait.
We're staying just outside of town at a site called Century House.
Tried CC site but was fully booked before last Christmas and didn't know about the one at Pleasureland.
