We are thinking of travelling down to the South of France for December and into January. Does anyone know of sites / aires that are open during this time.
We have just had 7 weeks out there but at the time didn't think of forward planning . We normally stay in the UK but are sick of booking a year in advance and the rip off prices.
    Can anyone help please???

La Vielle Ferme at Villeneuve Loubet Plage (about 1.5` northward of Antibies) is open all year. Buses run to Cannes or Nice, Monaco etc bus stop about 5 mins from Site. Also trains in both directions only 10 mins away. Never been in Winter October is our latest, nice site.

    Hi Wiljoy
Camping Manjastre Camping Manjastre *** is open all year according to the Camping Cheque book - "situated 150m off the D98 rom Hyéres". I don't know how much it is without a Camping Cheque. We have no personal experience of the site.
We are heading that way mid September - mid November.
    Regards Sostas

While the Aires at Narbonne and Gruissan will be open it is far too cold in this area in December. In fact the Aire at Gruissan is called the aire of the four winds and is very often cold even in the summer.

    france in December

We live in south west france, not far from Rodez, we have been snowed in many a time here, so we decided not to stay here in the winter, normally, we go to Spain, Portugal and Morocco, we try not to come back home until April when the weather improves.

As KenH has suggested it can be very cold at that time of the year in France. Have experienced lots of snow and worsed of all down to -9C which does not allow engine to be shut down for long for heat inside. All Aires in France would be open but very lonely. Far better if you can make southern Spain where temps in the order of 16C and no snow.

    Good luck Ron W
