Still trying to decide on what reversing camera option to go for. All the high level cameras that I have seen on PVCs have been attached to the roof, and I am wondering if it would be easier to fix the camera at the top of a rear door which would only be about 6 inches lower than the roof fitting. I assume that it should be possible to run the cables through the conduit used for getting power to the rear number plate light on the door.
Has anyone used this option? If so, do you have any comments or tips please?

Can't see any benefit in doing that, it was very easy to fit above the door.

I have fitted them to doors on Renault Master vans where the top of the door curves over the rear end of the roof. On a Ducato panel van I always fit to the roof as it reduces the work involved in installing it and reduces the chances of the cables getting damaged by constant flexing when the doors are opened and closed. There are some very good rear view cameras integrated into a replacement high level brake light for the Ducatos now.
