Right, I've narrowed it down to two possibilities. When we are away we have to put the dog on a lead more and she tends to pull,or am I driving in an unusual way and hurting my elbows. Does anyone else get this or is it just me?

If you're sitting too far back from the wheel so that your arms are out straight, that can cause painful elbows - arms should be slightly bent for comfort. Also if you're somewhat stressed and gripping the wheel too tightly .........
