Jaws. Thanks for the heads up, looks good eh! Like the low centre of gravity, not sure about the colour and would prefer if it were petrol/lpg, environmental considerations and all that.
Do you know if they do a camouflage finish as this might help appease those who are not keen on them?

Think it might be too late as it got loaded tonight... But just hurl a low of dog poo all over and then bake it on with a hair drier ,, Should work ok ( and of course the sound deadening effect could be advantage too

Serious question
If I purchase one of these off eBay would I also require solar panels?[/QUOTE]
No but i would invest in a efoy just to be on the safe side, failing that maybe try and find sites with hook up.
Hope this helps you or any newbies out there.
Cheers
Andy

I gave your question some thought...

Rather than solar panels why not a 2000 yard EHU lead ?

(If you plan your trip carefully that should get you hook up at most places ?

Or if no hook up you can place the genny a mile from you to avoid embarrassing confrontations ..

By the time anyone has followed the lead they will have no fight left and possibly lost the will to live (y)

I went to the weigh bridge today fully loaded with water diesel and equipment ready for our 6 month trip away, we also had our honda goldwing in the garage with full servicing tools and a slate bed pool table in the games room / awning.
Now we came in 150 kgs under our plated weight, what size genny would you reccomend, considering the weight we have spare just in case we run out of leccy ?.
Many thanks for your suggestions
Andy.

Just run the wing on a dyno and it will be quieter than most gennies anyway.

OOps sorry you wanted noisier, fit half a dozen micron cans to the wing.

You WILL need solar and possibly a genny to keep the starting batteries on top form.

Im a newbie
Ive got a couple of 5KVA "super silent" but i fear my newbie status would not get to second base if i brought it to site. Thats if i managed to lift the beast into the van. Just supposing I did get it to site, you would all know the minute i struck it up. Makes thunder sound like a dilent movie. Fear not we wont be doing that.

Now someone told me jaws has made his own from an old Harley with straight through pipes, so he could hear it running without his hearing aids..........or is this a rumour john

Yes.. nothing but a nasty rumour.. I used a Cummins lump.

I am quite offended that anyone should mention my name in association with anything Hardly Moving !!

Could be permanently fitted to a bike rack attached to the back wall. Might play havoc with the axle loading though
